IRS Letter 2275C: Additional Authentication Required

The LTR 2275C requests additional authentication beyond what was provided in a prior verification attempt. This typically appears when online or phone verification was incomplete, when the IRS needs documents that weren't provided previously, or when the risk level requires enhanced verification.

What Additional Proof May Be Needed

A second form of identification, documentation from a financial institution verifying your identity, utility bills or other proof of address, notarized copies of identification documents, or an in-person verification at a Taxpayer Assistance Center.

Respond Completely

Provide exactly what the letter requests. Additional authentication requests mean prior submissions were insufficient. Make sure this response covers everything so you don't receive a third request.

If the authentication process is proving difficult, call us at (813) 229-7100.
